Estimator  (Brooklyn, NY)

  1. Attend project kick off meetings, provide cost control for ongoing projects, and assist accounting team with budget control and budget reviews for various projects.
  2. Prepare cost estimates for high-end residential projects in New York City.
  3. Perform quantity take-off using Bluebeam Revu software.
  4. Prepare price estimates using internal company cost data.
  5. Assist Architects and Designers with conceptual budgets.
  6. Attend pre-bid walk through meetings with Architects and Subcontractors.
  7. Request proposals from different subcontractors and analyze their proposals for scope and price clarification.
  8. Prepare tentative/preliminary construction schedule using MS Project.
  9. Provide value engineering (VE) to Architects and Clients.
  10. Negotiating and procuring subcontracts.
  11. Conduct project kick-off meetings with the project team.
  12. Quantify and prepare change orders (COs) for on-going projects.
  13. Provide cost control and budget updates for construction manager at risk projects.
  14. Assist accounting team with budget control, budget analysis and reviews using Timberline sage software.

Position requires Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study with 2 years’ experience in position offered or related position with similar duties.

2 years’ experience required with performing scope take off based on drawings using software Planswift and experience preparing bid proposals.

Please note that there is no out of State travel for this position. All of employer’s clients are based out of New York City and within the five boroughs thereof. The specific job duties that require Attending pre-bid walk through meetings with Architects and subcontractors, Preparing cost estimates for high end residential projects in New York City, Attending project kick off meetings etc. all require attendance at client sites with New York City and/or its five boroughs, all of which would be in the same Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). In terms of Frequency of Travel to client sites in New York City and its boroughs the position requires daily visits to client sites.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Salary offered is $69,971.00 per year.
